Carmel-By-The-Sea
We will be wanting all of our guests to be staying in the beautiful town of Carmel-By-The-Sea. There are incredible shops, restaurants, art galleries, and amazing sites to see all in one place. We will be staying at Carmel Mission Inn and we would love for you to join us in staying there. We have contracted charter buses that will be picking everyone up on Saturday early afternoon 9/14/24 to transport you 45 minutes South to our secret wedding venue location in Big Sur.
We do not want anyone staying in Big Sur as it is very far from everything. There is no cell reception there, Ubers, grocery stores, or really anything of any kind. There is also no parking at the venue and due to alcohol being served the day of the wedding we are required to hire transportation for our guests, so it would just be way easier if everyone did not stay in Big Sur. BUT, because Big Sur is so beautiful… we found the most magical wedding venue tucked away and we are going to take you there.
Whether you stay at Carmel Mission Inn or somewhere nearby, all you will need to do is make sure you are at Carmel Mission Inn on time on Saturday 9/14 and hop on your assigned bus. The charter buses will transport everyone down the coast with the most beautiful views of the ocean, bridges, and cliffs. At the end of the night, we will have you load up the buses and we will make sure everyone gets back to Carmel Mission Inn where you can call your Uber or go straight to your room. The buses have A/C, background music, comfy & spacious seats, overhead compartments, and everything you’ll need to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We will be sending more information and updates when invitations are sent out and closer to the wedding date.
Below are some alternative hotels listed for you to look into. They have a range of prices so depending on your budget, you should be able to find a good fit for you or at least get a good start for what the area has to offer. We highly recommend you book as soon as you can. Waiting last minute can become really stressful and expensive. We may have some rooms available still on our personal hotel room block for Carmel Mission Inn at a discounted price. You will be required to book a 2 night minimum stay (Friday 9/13 & Saturday 9/14), but you can stay 3 nights too if you want to come down an extra day. A valid credit card is required, $0 to reserve the rooms, and you will be charged at check in. This option is very helpful if you don’t want to pay out of pocket immediately. If you are interested in booking with our room block please contact Bonnie or Blake directly to discuss further details. Rooms will be on a first come first serve basis to whoever reserves first. We do not have a lot of rooms left.
Carmel Mission Inn
Situated along one of the most desirable stretches of the Pacific Coast Highway in the one-of-a-kind community of Carmel, Carmel Mission Inn provides guests with a fun place to play, relax, and regroup to explore Carmel and the surrounding area. Travel
We highly recommend you fly into Monterey Regional Airport. It is only a short 15 minute drive from there to Carmel-By-The-Sea and it is a super small nice airport.
The second closest option would be flying into San Francisco and it would be a 2 hour drive away from Carmel-By-The-Sea.
For those of you who live in Los Angeles, it is a 6 hour drive up the coast or 5 hour drive up through the countryside. Regardless, whichever way you choose to go, it is a beautiful drive up.
